Overview:

Months before the end of 1999, Betsy Nilssen is forced to confront her twenty-four-year-old life. Her childhood soulmate is getting married, and now Betsy must be the maid of honour. But for this Peter Pan love child of Bridget Jones and David Sedaris - having refused all suggestions to grow up - this is possibly the worst news ever. To top it off, Betsy's not sure if the world will survive into the new millennium, and so she orders a 52-day supply of dehydrated meals, anxiously awaiting the countdown and fearing the new year - the upcoming wedding, the inevitable outcome of her maybe-relationship, and the dead-end assignments from her boss. As predicted, something is indeed coming - and if it's not the end of the world, it will at least be the end of the "old" Betsy Nilssen, whose world must be blown apart before she can truly begin to live.
